We are honored to announce that The Architect’s Newspaper (AN) has selected BEAM as the Winner in the Lighting Designer category of its 2024 Best of Practice Awards. AN’s fourth annual Best of Practice Awards recognizes AEC firms throughout North America for their design projects, values, culture and business excellence.

Since 2002, BEAM has created vibrant strategies for a wide range of projects in lighting design, including hospitality, workplace, education, religious, civic, façade, and residential. In addition to designing for higher-profile projects, they also design for nonprofit entities and city revitalization projects, such as affordable housing, dementia and elderly care facilities, and neighborhood transformations. They relish the small projects, which often are the most transformative: relighting an underlit porte-cochere, illuminating a historic fountain, or enhancing a city garden, as they exemplify how good lighting alters the lives of its habitants.

Located in Philadelphia, BEAM is a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise since its inception. Their current projects in design continue to highlight their variety and expertise in lighting design: the restoration of First Bank in Philadelphia; Jackson Street Bridge in Trenton, NJ; a homeless shelter in Philadelphia; a large multifamily residential waterfront complex in Yonkers NY; and several boutique and branded hotels throughout Tennessee.
