Three of BEAM’s projects received awards at this summer’s IES Philaments Award Dinner for The Academy House Lobby, Holly Pointe Commons at Rowan University, and Cabrini University Athletic Pavilion.
The Academy House Lobby lighting mimics the new pattern of cylindrical pendants at the outdoor arcade with randomly placed pendants at varying heights to provide design continuity. We collaborated with CosciaMoos Architecture on this iconic project in Philadelphia.
Holly Pointe Commons, designed by Erdy McHenry Architecture, won a Section award. The lighting successfully illuminates the expansive glass bridges and exterior ceilings of the bridges connecting the three wings of this new freshman dormitory at Rowan University.
Dixon Athletic Pavilion won a Section Award as well as a National IES Award of Merit for the lighting design. Designed by WRT, the pavilion successfully marries lighting and architecture. Asymmetric linear luminaries concealed in the structure illuminate the canopy reinforcing the strong architectural plane.
