Transformed workplace for GSA creates an inspiring place to work
A multi-phased renovation of the William J. Green Federal Building in downtown Philadelphia transformed 450,000sf of various federal agencies split on several levels of the 10-story building. The lighting design met the goals of adhering to a strict budget, providing lighting efficiencies, and most importantly, accenting and complimenting the architecture of the space.
BEAM’s design is specific to each agency’s needs and requirements while using a variation of the same fixtures to provide a cohesive design from floor to floor. Throughout most spaces, the low ceilings were removed to expose structure and allow daylight to penetrate further into the space. The staggered placement of direct/indirect fixtures creates a dynamic space for both task and ambient lighting.
