A boutique hotel sits in the heart of West Philadelphia, designed with a well-illuminated sequence to enter, sit and relax
The Study at University City is a boutique hotel that brings guest suites, several thousand square feet of banquet and meeting space, and a chic restaurant to the corner of 33rd + Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia. BEAM collaborated with the architect to develop a lighting scheme for the entire hotel, including the exterior, ballroom and 212 guest rooms.
The lighting complements the building facade, illuminating the interior spaces to pronounce the staggered glazing. The exterior lighting provides a restrained and elegant visual stimulus to the wood accent walls and exposed structural columns and illuminates the surrounding site.
For the upper-level hotel room floors, BEAM specified trimless downlights to highlight the doors and unique sconces to add interest to the long hallways.
