Stunning Condo highlights private art collection in Naples, Florida

Located in a luxury tower overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, this modern condominium provided several challenges for the lighting design: an extensive 2D and 3D art collection, reflective and mirrored surfaces, low ceilings, and an aging client needing higher illumination and minimal glare. The concept: Integrate light into the architecture, making the art the primary focus. Each art piece was studied and a specific lighting solution was developed to accentuate the materiality and shape, while still allowing flexibility to accommodate adjustments in the field.

Other architectural features included illuminating a glass floor, floating ceilings, mirrored surfaces, backlit shelves and a dynamic wine display. Lighting control was critical for entertaining and to allow for easy recall of lighting scenes and colors for the wine display within the space or remotely.

After installation, BEAM aimed every fixture with the client to highlight the pieces, and to accentuate reflections, shadows, texture, beam pattern and intensity to further enhance the art and surrounding walls. Overall, multiple layers of light ensure the design meets the client’s needs and accents the unique features and dramatic artwork throughout this exquisite condominium.
