Luxury Student Apartments take Centerstage in University City next to an Urban Retreat

BEAM developed and specified a lighting design for the entire interior and exterior of the building, as well as controls design for the amenity and corridor spaces. The unique campus high-rise is certified LEED Gold with BEAM’s lighting design 40% below the allowable power density. The resident lounges, punctuated with light, and the glowing rooftop pool terrace illuminate this sleek tower in the West Philadelphia skyline.
BEAM was also commissioned to perform a daylight modeling study as well as design the lighting for the adjacent green roof atop the existing 30th Street garage. Cira Green is a lush oasis in the city, with open lawn spaces, a small stage, and a projection system on the tower’s south façade for events. Proper cut off of the projection lighting and whimsical light poles avoids unwanted light spilling into the adjacent residential units.
