BEAM illuminates ultra-luxury living in Center City
500 Walnut, the premier address in Center City, is a 26-story elegant building in the heart of Philadelphia, surrounded by historically significant architecture and overlooking the Liberty Bell. The sleek condominium tower offers 30 exclusive units, an indoor pool and spa, board and club rooms and a large outdoor terrace with views of Independence National Park.
BEAM designed the lighting and controls for all interior spaces. Inspired by theatrical lighting, focused beams of light highlight the exceptional materials and artwork, creating dramatic shadows and pools of light. Except where visible for their decorative quality, all luminaires are concealed or well-shielded to minimize glare in this intentionally high contrast environment.
To overcome the challenge of creating a high-end design that met a value-engineered, developer-driven budget, luminaires were limited and strategically placed to allow for superior quality selections.
