Ambler Theater

This Spanish Revival building received a complete and modern update in two major phases and BEAM was integrally involved in the second phase renovation. The Main Auditorium renovation restored the intricate interior to its original grandeur, while modernizing the systems for today’s demanding theatrical uses.
The space is primarily used as a movie theater, however, with a true stage, can also be used for corporate meetings, as a training facility, or as a concert venue.
These multiple demands called for a unique lighting system that would allow for flexibility, yet be simple to operate and maintain due to the fact that the facility is a non-profit with only a nominal operating budget and limited personnel.
The lighting in this auditorium is controlled from a
state-of-the-art theatrical lighting truss. This multi-circuit truss, can raise and lower at the touch of a button, allowing for maintenance and fixture aiming at waist height.
The various lighting circuits highlight the beautifully restored wood and hand painted plaster ceiling, as well as accentuates the proscenium. The organ lofts sparkle from yet another circuit of lighting on the truss. Additional circuits of light include illumination for cleaning, along with spot-lights for on-stage presenters.
The entire system was integrated into the high-tech movie theater lighting controls, which synchronizes dimming and switching of the lights to the presentation of the film, from the preview trailers all way to the final credits.
