Mrinalini (Minnie) Kalla

LIGHTING DESIGNER

Originally from Mumbai, India, Minnie brings a global perspective to the field of lighting design. With both an architecture degree and master’s degree in lighting design, Minnie embarked on her lighting design career in Mumbai and New York City. Her journey led her to Philadelphia, where she now applies her practical skills to creating transformative lighting designs at BEAM.

With an interest in the technical aspects of lighting and its impact on health and well-being, she is passionate about integrating innovative technologies to improve user experiences. At BEAM, Minnie assists with the production of lighting design and specifications, collaborating with the team to deliver designs that are as practical as they are inspiring.

Minnie is an advisory member of the IES Residential Lighting Technical Committee, contributing to the development of drafting standards.  Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new art forms, with a particular passion for music and dance.
