Sbraga & Company

The new Sbraga restaurant, located in Jacksonville, FL, combines a dining environment that feels rustic, familiar and comfortable, with celebrating the spirit of southern hospitality in an informal way. The modern architectural design of the space is a clean backdrop to the furniture layout and other residential references such as area rugs and chandeliers. The result is a contemporary space with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with southern influenced accents.

BEAM’s lighting design for the space reinforces the design aesthetic of the architecture and inviting interior. In the main dining space, downlights are tucked between floating wooden slats that conceal the bulk of the fixture but allow for functional lighting and give the ceiling a twinkling sensation. The downlights in conjunction with the decorative pendants, with LED Edison-style lamping, provides a warm and welcoming environment. At the main bar and the chef’s counter/raw bar, under-counter lighting accents the wood paneling below while downlights in a floating ceiling provide appropriate light levels.

BEAM also worked hand-in-hand with the interior designer to specify adequate and efficient lamping for all decorative fixtures in the dining and lounge spaces to ensure budget was met while retaining high quality fixtures.
