Garden of Reflection

Originally conceptualized as a memorial project to especially honor the 17 local victims of Bucks County, PA, this site quickly became the official Pennsylvania 9-11 Memorial to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. BEAM worked with the selected designer and planning committee to develop lighting for both the landscape and architectural elements. The etched-glass panel railing system showing the names of all that were lost is carefully illuminated by in ground lights. Additional ground-mounted landscape lighting up light the trees, graze interpretive panels and highlight fragments from the memorial, thus enhancing the reverent atmosphere of the site.

BEAM donated much of the design fees for the project and worked with manufacturers for financial assistance to bring the park to realization on budget, rather than profit from, and ultimately honor those who lost their lives.
